"The Kuala Lumpur College of Traditional Chinese Medicine is a 23-year-old Chinese medicine institution located in the heart of Kuala Lumpur with convenient transportation. The purpose of the establishment of this college is to train high-level modern Chinese medicine professionals to serve the health care of the people in the region and contribute to the development of Chinese medicine. In just a few years, with the cooperation and efforts of the college committee, lecturers and students, the college has become one of the Chinese medicine colleges with the largest number of students and the most complete equipment in Malaysia. The total area of the college is over 6,000 square feet, with an auditorium that can accommodate 150 people, a library, a pharmacy, and various advanced teaching and scanning equipment.
The purpose of our college is to train local high-level Chinese medicine talents, promote and improve the status of Chinese medicine in our country, and do our part for the health of the people. Over the years, we have successfully hosted two five-year undergraduate classes in Chinese medicine and pharmacy, as well as a one-year Chinese medicine health care general knowledge class, which has been greatly welcomed and encouraged by people who are interested in Chinese medicine. The three-year Chinese medicine acupuncture specialty course currently offered focuses on the teaching method of imparting practical experience, combined with a certain degree of Chinese medicine theory, diagnosis and prescription, so that students can complement each other in theoretical and practical knowledge, not only to learn practical acupuncture treatment techniques, And there is also enough theoretical foundation for deeper research and development.
In addition to this, as a member of our college, there will be opportunities to enhance learning interest and enrich one's knowledge of medical and health care through a variety of extracurricular activities such as field herbal camps, free clinics, local herbal medicine exhibitions, Chinese and Western medicine factory visits, academic data collection, etc., as well as inviting domestic and foreign professors or experts to give special lectures. The five-year Chinese Medicine Bachelor's Program jointly organized by
our college and Heilongjiang University of Chinese Medicine in China provides a systematic professional training course. The subjects and teaching hours are in line with the standards of Chinese medicine colleges at home and abroad, with a ratio of seven Chinese medicine and three modern medicine, and a five-year course. In 2010, a master's and doctoral degree program in Chinese medicine was launched, which marked another milestone for Chinese medicine education in Malaysia!
In addition to classes, the institute also organizes other activities related to learning Chinese medicine, such as outdoor herbal medicine camps, free clinics, Chinese medicine exhibitions, visits to Chinese or Western medicine factories, and inviting domestic and foreign professors or experts to give special lectures, etc., to enhance learning interest.
The students include professionals from various industries, such as engineers, surveyors, accountants, teachers, artists and writers; in addition, there are also high school graduates, pharmacy practitioners, housewives, etc. Everyone is enthusiastic about learning Chinese medicine, and from their different backgrounds, they exchange experiences with each other, which makes the learning atmosphere in the class very colorful."
