LEISURE HOLIDAYS SDN BHD (now known as LEISURE HOLIDAYS BHD) was incorporated on 17 September 1984 as a private limited company. It was founded by Dato Loy Teik Ngan and started business in 1987 as a timeshare company. It's first property was Leisure Bay in Penang, an abandoned project in Tanjung Tokong. Dato Loy who was exposed to the idea of timesharing during his days as a student abroad decided to use Leisure Bay to kick off the business. Within the first five years, the company sold thousands of memberships and leased more assets in Penang, Kuala Lumpur, Genting Highlands and Cameron Highlands. Leisure Holidays became one of the largest vacation clubs in the Asia Pacific and also received awards from Resort Condominiums International (RCI) for being an important contributor to the industry. It became a public company on 21 December 1992 in compliance with the new timeshare legislation. Today, Leisure Holidays Bhd has a paid-up capital of RM17.4 million. nstrumental in helping the Government to draft regulations on timeshare companies, Dato Loy was appointed as the first chairman of Malaysian Holiday Timeshare Developers’ Federation (MHTDF). Today, Leisure Holidays Bhd owns a total of 6 resorts all around Malaysia in addition to a resort in Gold Coast, Australia.
