Description

"The idea of starting Sievert Imaging Centre (SIC) was mooted in 2010 by the husband and wife founders, Dr Paul Chan and Dr Ruth Lee. During their service to serve the people of Sabah for more than a decade, they realised that radiological services is scarce throughout the east coast of Sabah. Public hospitals are poorly equipped and many do not have the expertise of diagnostic radiology. People throughout the East Coast have to endure 6-8 hours of travelling to Kota Kinabalu just to get a screening mammography or a quick CT scan. This sparked the idea of bringing radiology diagnostic services to these people. With SIC, the people of Sandakan will not need to travel to Kota Kinabalu now, hence save them significant amount of cost and hassle. With this in mind, SIC embraced the idea of bringing specialised radiology service to people rather than the other way round. Providing services to people that do not have the opportunity for such services is SIC's strategic objective. SIC bears the tagline ""Bringing Imaging Closer"". This will be SIC's corporate strategic objective for future plans. Though established in the small town of Sandakan, SIC believes that technology is the way forward. Systems are to handle 80% of the SIC's workflow while putting SIC's precious human resources towards customers' service. SIC is equipped with digitizers where films are no longer printed on conventional films but are delivered digitally to our clients and they can view their own films anywhere, anytime. Films are bulky, expensive and cannot be folded, hence, making it difficult to bring along during travel. ? SIC is a greenfield project. To ensure SIC will be highly successful, it cultivates one of Steven Covey's Habits of ""Beginning with the End in Mind"". SIC began with an aim to bring specialized services to people and 'end' with the people in mind."
