"Woh Kee Coffee Factory is a coffee powder manufacturer founded by the late Mr.Foo Woh Cheong in the nineteen thirties (1930s).. He brought along his coffee roasting recipe to Ipoh when he moved from his homeland in Hainan Island China. Woh Kee Coffee is well-known for its elephant brand coffee mixture since old days. Besides coffee, Woh Kee also markets high quality tea imported from Indonesia and Kenya.

The roasting process for white coffee is what sets it apart from black coffee. With black coffee, the beans are roasted for variable amounts of time, depending upon the desired brew strength, and mixed with butter (margarine for the lower grade) and sugar. As for white coffee, the beans are roasted only with butter to give the beans a lighter colour.
